Our second proposal is immersed in centuries-old Bulgarian history – Krasen Fortress. As the name suggests, this is a fortress located 6 km from Panagyurishte. It dates from the 10th century. The beautiful church that existed there gave the fortress’s name. The excavations revealed the remains of various buildings. Walking through this landmark’s remarkable ruins, you can not help but be transported into the magical history of Bulgaria.
The third destination is for those adventurers who like a little longer mountain walks. It’s about climbing Mount Bratia. It offers exceptional panoramic views of Stashtinska Sredna Gora. The walking route to the top starts from Panagyurski kolonii and is about 5 km long. The climbing adventure can be a challenge, but the final destination is worth it.
If you are looking for the perfect route for a family walk, then the tourist route Oborishte – Panagyurishte is just for you. It offers magnificent nature, benches for rest and relaxation, a small river, and a historical monument. The trail itself is very picturesque. There are many bridges over the river. Along the way, you will be accompanied by stone inscriptions with quotes from famous Bulgarian revolutionaries.
